The LEANNE LAINE ART GALLERY at Tastings, Fort Myers

Over the years we have shown and discussed on my website the Leanne Laine Art Gallery at Tastings, which now has five locations in a short period of time. Tastings is a one-of-a-kind wine bar offering new levels of experience to everyone from the novice to the sommelier. With over 100 wines in stock, Tastings boasts one of the largest selections in the world for wines-by-the-taste. It also boasts as being the home to the Official Leanne Laine Art Gallery.  Jennifer Wadsworth of Tastings in Fort Myers has a diverse collection of my art works in the Gallery which are also for sale right off the merlot-colored walls.

“It adds to the ambience — the fun of the space,” Wadsworth explained.

And customers agree:  “Last weekend, we purchased her painting entitled Crimson Craze , described as a delightfully intoxicating blend that ultimately find the taste buds infatuated with the lure of dark cherry and spicy aroma, and it now hangs proudly and boldly in our office.” – Brian Yerkes

I am so very honored and continually grateful for the ongoing feedback of my work and how it’s impacted a positive outcome not only for myself but also for Tastings since starting our relationship with them.

If you are going to be in Fort Myers, we would love to have you stop by. Enjoy some great wines, delicious food, and ask for a tour of my collections of works. If you do not see a piece you are looking for on the walls, Jennifer and her staff will be more than happy to assist you in your order.

Well over the years, some of you have shared photos of my work hung in your homes, offices, etc. for which I have been very thankful as it is always neat to see my works displayed somewhere miles away.  I have to say that I am very impressed with how my artwork has blended in nicely for some of your interior designs!  Whenever I receive these emails of photos, I admire them but then they always get filed away in a special folder to look at later.  Now that I have this blog, I thought this would be a great way to share your photos with the world, and perhaps give others who are remodelling or decorating some new ideas.  If you own one or several of my artworks and have taken a photo or two of them hung in your space, email them to me and explain why you chose the piece and how you felt it would blend into your space… or how you felt the piece fit into your life.

Bari from Jericho, NY explains:

I have been searching for a piece of art work to hang over my couch for over 6-months and did not want to settle on just anything. My taste is very contemporary and I was going for a warm feeling to the room to match my style. My Husband and I went to dinner one night at the Melting Pot Restaurant and I immediately noticed all the amazing art work by Leanne on the walls. Luckily we sat at a table where Comparing Pinot was hanging above us and the entire dinner, I was staring at this piece and said to myself “I have finally found what I have been looking for”. My love of wine combined with the style of Leanne’s work was a perfect match.

blog-ladymerlot1I get asked frequently — “…. how did you come up with the WOMEN IN WINE ™ series?…” Overall, 90% of my paintings aren’t planned and are mostly created as I paint. Many times while preparing my palette in front of a blank canvas, I have no idea in mind of what I will paint… which makes my role as an artist very fulfilling. Many who know my works know that my popular collections consist of the wine subject, especially the WOMEN IN WINE ™ series, as it was since then that my art had become quite the gig. The concept of blending the female figurative with the flow of wine was also never an idea that came to mind before I painted my first piece from the series. In the midst of ‘flowing the deep red wine’ with my knife into the glass (I am more of a knife painter than a brush painter), I stopped and noticed within a group of strokes in the reds what appeared to be the shoulders and breasts of a female. She looked like she was in mid-dance pose. I was struck and the idea exploded from there. I took a moment to pause and just stare at this cluster. It was as though she was telling me something, as though she wanted me to release her out of her shell and open up an exciting world that expresses a tantalizing kind of liberation. And when I did release her, it felt good, allowing her to lead the way with my knife…. and the next thing I knew, Lady Merlot was born.

Not Just Another Artist’s Blog

LeanneLaine2009I know, it seems like every artist has a blog, so here is yet another blog for the art lover’s palette. But its 2009, and it is a great outlet for those who are interested in my art, myself as an artist, or Leanne Laine Fine Art as a company, to learn more about what is happening month to month, season to season. It’s also a great place for me to discuss what inspires me, what interests me, and how those feelings translate into my works of art. Organizations that are important to me, such as World Vision, BC Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Hospital, three of just a few organizations that I am passionate for, and use my art to help raise money for their cause. Sometimes, I may even write about a local Women in Business group that I organize to help business women network for endless possibilities. A little bit of me, a little bit of art, a little bit of Leanne Laine Fine Art and so much more will hopefully entice you to follow my blog each month knowing it’s not just another artists blog.
