With all that is going on in the world, sometimes it’s hard not to focus on what’s wrong with the world rather than what is right, innocent, beautiful, breathtaking, and inspirational. Partial proceeds were proudly donated by Leanne to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at the gallery for all their efforts to make it such a success! Read article in the Tri-City Newspaper.

JUNE 2006 | 5th Annual Food and Wine Fest supporting SOS Children's Village BC

SOS Children’s Village BC provides a community-based family care service to improve and sustain the quality of life for foster children and foster families. Foster children are frequently at risk of emotional disturbances, delayed social development and poor educational performance. Foster parents who raise these children require ongoing special resources and support. The 5th annual Food and Wine Fest showcases daring chefs, chocolatiers, vintners, brewers, and baristas who will give their time and talent in support of SOS Children’s Village BC. To show her support, Leanne donated her artwork for the evening auction to help raise money for this great organization. A great time all in support for a uniquely caring community of foster parents.

Leanne Laine Fine Art is a big supporter of Ronald McDonald House and this year Leanne donated another two original art pieces, two pieces from a much anticipated new series of wine creations that will be the perfect accompaniment for the already very successful Women in Wine Series. This summer Leanne will be creating and displaying some of her original art pieces at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody BC Canada for the City of Port Moody’s 2005 Artists in the Park. Artists in the Park is a unique partnership between Port Moody and artists who, throughout the summer, will enhance visits to Rocky Point Park through the presence of their unique artwork. This is Leanne's second year with Artists in the Park and, unlike last year, Leanne will be creating and displaying her artwork spontaneously throughout the summer months rather than announcing specific dates.
